Mass of the Holy Spirit: A new year of Mission, Hope, and Service

Fr. Bok

On June 2, 2026, the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service Foundation, Inc. community gathered at the PJPS Office for the Mass of the Holy Spirit, marking the beginning of a new fiscal year rooted in faith, gratitude, and renewed commitment to our mission.

As staff, volunteers, and our Board of Trustees Chairwoman came together in prayer, we reflected on God's abundant blessings and faithful guidance throughout the years. The celebration reminded us that every life touched, every person accompanied, and every story of transformation witnessed in our prison ministry has been made possible through God's grace working through generous hearts.

The Mass also became a moment of hope as we joyfully welcomed Atty. Philip "Ipe" Gan as the new Executive Director of PJPS. As he begins this new chapter of leadership, the community entrusted him, together with our staff, volunteers, partners, donors, and beneficiaries, to the loving guidance of the Holy Spirit.

For PJPS, the beginning of a new fiscal year is more than a change in calendar. It is a renewed invitation to continue our mission of Rebuilding Lives, Rekindling Hope, and Restoring Dignity among persons deprived of liberty, their families, released persons, and communities affected by incarceration.

In the spirit of St. Ignatius of Loyola, we prayed for the grace to find God in all things. We asked for wisdom in moments of uncertainty, courage in times of challenge, and compassion as we accompany those entrusted to our care.

The prison ministry is a journey of presence. It is about walking with people through their struggles, celebrating their victories, and believing in the dignity that remains within every person. As we begin this new year together, we are reminded that the Holy Spirit continues to move in places where hope is needed most.

Sir Philip

Following the Mass, the community shared a simple salu salo, strengthening the bonds of friendship, mission, and service that unite us as one family.

As we move forward, we carry with us a simple prayer:

Come, Holy Spirit. Guide us, inspire us, and send us forth in love and service.

Together, may we continue to be instruments of God's mercy and hope for our brothers and sisters affected by incarceration.

PJPS Team

Happy Sacerdotal to youu, Fr. Bok!! Happy Welcome to youu, Sir Ipe!
