PRL CARE Program Empowers 14 Beneficiaries Through the Capital Assistance Project Batch 4

May 16, 2026 PJPS Office, Muntinlupa City The Philippine Jesuit Prison Service Foundation, Inc. through the PRL CARE Program successfully conducted the Batch 4 of Capital Assistance Project, benefiting 14 Persons Restored of Liberty and their families through seed funding, business formation, and mentoring support. The Capital Assistance Project seeks to provide opportunities for PRLs and PDL families to rebuild their lives through sustainable livelihood and microbusiness initiatives. More than financial assistance, the program promotes stewardship and solidarity, encouraging beneficiaries to “pay it forward” by sharing a portion of their future earnings to help support the next generation of entrepreneurs from the corrections community. The day began with a Business Orientation and Seminar titled “Introduction to Money Management” led by guest speaker Mr. Marlon Morales, who shared valuable lessons on financial literacy, discipline, and responsible business management. PJPS staff member Fresco Pequit also shared practical business insights and entrepreneurial guidance, while PRL Roy Aguilo inspired participants through his testimony of resilience, perseverance, and overcoming setbacks in business. Roy is the owner of BigRoy’s Molino Boulevard and shared best practices from his own journey as an entrepreneur. The activity concluded with a simple salu-salo and the distribution of capital assistance to the beneficiaries. Present during the activity were Fr. Erwin Arandia, SJ, Acting Executive Director, Ma. Katherine Guaño, Associate Director, and Gene Alolosan, PRL CARE Program Coordinator. PJPS also extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Philippine Jesuit Foundation in New York, United States, for the continued generosity and support for our PRL brothers and sisters. Through partnerships rooted in compassion and hope, more lives continue to be restored with dignity and purpose. Donate now and help us continue empowering persons restored of liberty and their families through livelihood, formation, and second chances.
