Today, the staff of Philippine Jesuit Prison Service Foundation, Inc. commemorate the anniversary of the historic People Power Revolution. A moment in our nation’s history that showed the world the power of peaceful collective action.
Wearing our “Managot ang Kurakot” shirts, we stand in solidarity with the enduring call for accountability, integrity, and good governance. As a prison ministry rooted in restorative justice and human dignity, PJPS believes that justice must be lived at every level of society, from personal choices to public leadership.
More than a historical event, EDSA remains a moral reminder: when people are united in truth and courage, change is possible.
As we reflect on this anniversary in 2026, we acknowledge the many social, political, and economic challenges our country continues to face. In the spirit of discernment, a value deeply rooted in Ignatian spirituality, we entrust our nation to the Lord. We pray for the grace to choose wisely, to act justly, and to form consciences that seek the common good.
For us in PJPS, remembering EDSA is not merely political, it is spiritual. It calls us to examine how we participate in nation-building: through honesty in small things, responsible citizenship, and prayerful discernment in choosing leaders.
May we continue to walk as a people guided not by fear or division, but by faith, truth, and hope.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.
