From February 25–28, 2026, the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service Foundation, Inc. (PJPS) facilitated another meaningful OPLAN Dalaw at the New Bilibid Prison – Minimum Security Camp.

The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided by Rev. Fr. Erwin F. Arandia, SJ, together with our new team member, Rev. Bien Emmanuel C. Cruz, SJ. The Mass grounded the mission in prayer, reminding us that every reunion is first and foremost a grace.
What made this particular OPLAN Dalaw especially moving was that we brought together three families coming from Dalaguete, Cebu; Daet, Camarines Sur; and Masbate City. To ensure that distance and financial limitations would not hinder reconciliation, all expenses — including airfare, lodging, transportation, and food were fully provided by PJPS. Through the generosity of our donors and mission partners, these families were able to travel and reunite with their loved ones without carrying the burden of cost.

After 17 long years, PDL Vargas embraced his daughters, Ane and Jesselyn. Their last meeting was at Cebu City Jail, when Jesselyn was only 15 years old and Ane just 5 years old. Time had passed, but the love between a father and his daughters remained.
PDL Vibar was visited by his eldest son, Alvin, after two years. Upon arrival, we were informed that the PDL had been transferred to the hospital at the Maximum Security Camp for medical treatment. With guidance and coordination, Alvin was assisted in visiting his father there, ensuring that distance within the prison walls would not prevent their reunion.
Meanwhile, PDL Aiguilles was visited by his sister, Evangeline, after nine years apart. Years of separation dissolved into tears, smiles, and quiet gratitude.
OPLAN Dalaw visits are often arranged as surprises for the PDLs. And when families finally see one another, you can feel the overwhelming love, joy, and anticipation in the air. These are not merely visits, they are sacred encounters of healing.
This was made possible with the presence and support of our staff, friends from Assisi Development Foundation, Inc., MR. DIY Philippines, and Mr. and Mrs. Mannix Evangelista. We are also deeply grateful to Philippine Airlines for extending airfare discounts that helped make these reunions possible.
We are humbled that the Lord continues to use PJPS as an instrument of reconciliation and hope, bridging distances, restoring relationships, and reminding families that love endures.

To our mission partners, sponsors, and supporters: THANK YOU for making moments like these possible. Because of you, families separated by years are given the chance to embrace once more.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.
